Having sourced the boat at the right price, the owner was able to justify throwing some fresh horsepower on the back of this Quintrex Freedom Sport, which ultimately provides him with reliable boating for another 15 – 20 years.

Mandurah Outboards supplied & installed a new Mercury 3.0L 135hp EFI Four Stroke which was hooked up to the boats existing power steering system. The new outboard was paired with the Mercury Vessel View 403 screen and a 15P Mercury Enertia Propeller. On top of the new outboard installation, Mandurah Outboards installed a new Lowrance Elite 9 Ti2 GPS/Sounder System, lights, fresh antenna bases and whips, charging sockets and we also gave the dash a bit of a birthday and tidy up.

The Mercury 3.0L 135hp/150hp never lets us down, on this occasion with the boat travelling at 3500rpm/21 knots the boat achieves 2.2km/L and even at 4000rpm with the boat travelling at 24 knots it still achieves 1.8km/L. The boat reached a top speed of 34.5 knots. The 3.0L platform provides plenty of grunt out of the hole, which is obviously ideal for a boat like a Quintrex Freedom Sport as you are likely at some point in time to do some skiing/towing.
